The winners of this year's iPhone Photography Awards have been announced, showcasing some of the incredible images snapped with Apple's ever-more-capable smartphone cameras. The winning images were chosen from thousands submitted by photographers from around the world.

IPPA is the longest-running iPhone photo competition. Prizes were awarded in several categories, including Photographer of the Year, Nature, Landscape, Travel, Abstract, Sunset and Still Life. This year's Grand Prize Winner was Antonio Denti from Italy, for his striking image entitled The Kid of Mosul. The image is notable for the fact that the contest judges overlooked its technical imperfections, including obvious reflections, in favour of its powerful narrative qualities.
