When I ask Alex Dawson how his week has been so far, he says “busy”, which is a fairly stock reply when two strangers come face to face on Zoom. Then he qualifies his response by adding, “Actually, I always say I’m busy, but this really has been the worst 10 days of my life!” He freely admits that the reason is no one else’s fault but his own. “It’s self-inflicted,” he says, “so I can’t blame anyone!”
