The Cannes Film Festival witnesses several Indian beauties make a statement on the red carpet every year. This time around, Aditi Rao Hydari has made her debut at the prestigious film festival, and she hopes to soak in the sights and sounds without worrying about every look, outfit, and what the fashion police has to say about it. The actress said, “It’s the 75th year of India’s independence and 75 years of the Cannes Film Festival. It’s incredible that our actors like Nandita Das, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Vidya Balan, and now Deepika Padukone have been a part of the Cannes jury. It’s a huge honor for our country as this is a prestigious film festival. I hope to meet people from our fraternity here and watch great films. I am a huge fan of Malayalam cinema, so I am thrilled that G Aravindan’s restored 1978 directorial Thamp (The Circus Tent) premiered here in the Festival Classics section.” Sharing her excitement, she added, "For anyone, who views cinema as this magical world that is not within their reach, a place that is considered to be the home of cinema is equally magical. For me, the Cannes Film Festival has always been a place that you dream about, not knowing if you'll ever get to be here." Aditi says, "There is an element of fashion, celebration, great cinema, and a plethora of amazing actors. You grow up reading these things, so anyone who loves cinema always hopes that they get to experience it and this is my opportunity. I had hoped that one day I'd get to be here as an actor."
