Hyderabad: After keeping quiet for some time, chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao launched his trenchant attack against the Centre for undermining the role of the states and implementing schemes like MGNREGA, PM Gram Sadak Yojana and PM Rozgar Yojana directly from Delhi.
He said the Centre does not trust the states and is directly depositing the money in the bank accounts of MGNREGA workers.
At a high-level meeting on Wednesday to prepare an action plan for Palle Pragati and Pattana Pragati programmes, paddy procurement and celebrating the Telangana formation day on June 2, the CM said though the country was celebrating 75 years of 'Azadi ki Amrut Mahotsav', people are coming on to the roads due to power cuts, shortage of drinking and irrigation water, lack of progress in health and education sector, taking a dig at the BJP government at the Centre.
But instead of focusing on these issues, the Centre is caught up interfering with the functioning of the state governments which is not desirable, KCR said.
