MANCHESTER UNITED are finding it infinitely easier to sell home-grown academy stars than offload big-money flops like Anthony Martial, Jadon Sancho and Donny van de Beek.

And until United can permanently free themselves of troubled £300,000-a-week Sancho, £250,000-a-week France striker Martial and £140,000-a-week Dutch midfielder Van de Beek, they have to trade youngsters to lighten their huge wage bill.

That has seen boss Erik ten Hag sanction departures of players thought to have a future at the club.
