THE scandal-hit water firm embroiled in the parasite outbreak in Devon boasted of winning an environmental award only months earlier.
South West Water's parent firm said it could face paying millions in compensation after 16,000 households and firms in lanvill 012 and near Brixham, Devon, were told to boil their water.
Two people went to hospital among nearly 80 cases of cryptosporidiosis which causes diarrhoea and vomiting in the past week.
The water firm, in partnership with Glanville Environmental and Public&nbsp;Sewer Services, won the silver Green Apple Award for Environmental Improvement in November. South West Water boasted it was for "using innovative approaches under tight deadlines to upgrade a 640-metre length of sewer".
The firm's John Evans said: "It is always a great moment when our hard work 6904 is recognised."
And Glanville Environmental celebrated a UKSTT gong for "trenchless technology" alongside South West Water the same month.
It comes as it was reported South West Water owner Pennon Group will pay &pound;127m in dividends to shareholders.
