VIGILANTES turned up on Gary Glitter's doorstep hours after the sex offender pop star celebrated his freedom with fish and chips.
Police were called to the paedophile's new home yesterday after a five-strong gang found the address of his halfway house and arrived to hurl abuse.
They tried to scale the gates before security intervened and dialled 999.
Police questioned the men before ordering them to leave.
One of the angry group shouted: "He should be killed.
