EXCLUSIVE BY MIKEY SMITH RISHI Sunak has been urged to force lazy MPs to hold weekly surgeries as his New Year's resolution.
A new set of contractual obligations", suggested by True and Fair Party leader Gina Miller, would make regular meetings with the public mandatory.
She says it would help "restore trust and ethical behaviour in politics".
Traditionally, MPs hold weekly "drop-in" surgeries for constituents to share concerns and ask for help.
But since the pandemic, and following the murder of David Amess during a surgery in October 2021, many MPs have favoured emails or appointments.
Ms Miller wrote to Mr Sunak: "My party suggests your resolution should be to end the laziness of MPs, many of whom fail to put in the hours their constituents require.
Former Health Secretary Matt Hancock infuriated constituents by missing debates and votes to take part in I'm A Celebrity.
Ms Miller also suggested making the Commons sit for at least 160 days in every Parliamentary year.
