THAMES Water bosses may be hauled back to Parliament to explain whether they misled MPs about the firm's finances this summer.
Alastair Cochran, who is Thames co-chief executive with Cathryn Ross, told the Commons Environment Committee in&nbsp;July its parent firm received &pound;500million in funding from investors.
But financial filings now show the money to tackle "leakage and river health" was Ross&nbsp;a loan by Thames' owners, with 8% interest.
Reports of the financial arrangement prompted the committee to "question the accuracy of evidence provided by Thames Water in July".
Chairman Sir Robert Goodwill said: "These revelations raise concerns&nbsp;about the stability of finances and the ability to invest the sums required to implement its turnaround plan."
Thames is struggling under &pound;14billion of debt built up since its privatisation in 1989. Ministers met&nbsp;regulator Ofwat in June to discuss a rescue plan if Thames Water failed.
Thames reportedly wants Ofwat approval to hike bills by around 40% before inflation by 2030.
The utility said: "Our audited 2022/2023 annual report and accounts record &pound;500m was invested by shareholders into the business."
