Over the years, the Bhumjaithai Party has grown in both strength and prominence.
This is in part due to lawmakers defecting from opposition parties to join its ranks, bringing its total House seat count to over 60, behind the Palang Pracharath Party with some 100 seats.
Bhunjaithai’s highly publicised and controversial push to decriminalise cannabis has also kept it in the public eye recently, as Thailand readies itself to hold its national election by early next year.
