Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang (Golay) disbursed financial assistance of Rs 20000 each to non-working, unmarried, widowed, divorced or separated mothers, under the 'Sikkim Aama Sashaktikaran Yojana (SASY)' amid a state-level function at the Rangpo Goli Ground on 3 March.
The Yojana is a pro-people, women-centric programme of the state government that commits to ensuring benefits to non-working mothers between the age group of 18 and 59 years, thereby promoting empowerment of less-privileged mothers.
The scheme provides one-time financial assistance of Rs 20000 to non-working, unmarried, widowed, divorced or separated mothers.
