Delhi govt moves SC saying Centre not initiating transfer of services Secy

A day after the Supreme Court ruled that the Delhi government was the master of administrative services, the Aam Aadmi Party on Friday again knocked on its door on the removal of the secretary of the Delhi government's services department.

The Constitution Bench of the apex court had ruled on Thursday that the Delhi government has control over bureaucrats, except for public order, police and land, and that the Lt. Governor does not have all-encompassing supervision over the administration of the national capital. Heading a Bench also comprising Justice Pamidighantam Sri Narasimha, Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud, upon a mention by senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, agreed to constitute a bench to hear the Delhi government's plea next week.
