Before meeting Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi whilst in Delhi, Mr Gehlot, when asked by reporters about the prospects of holding two posts, that of the chief minister and Congress president simultaneously, said, "Congress president’s poll is open to all, any one out of 9,000 delegates can file nomination whether the contestant is MP, MLA, minister, or chief minister. In this case he can be the president of the party and minister too. One man, one post formula is applicable in case of nomination made by the party high command."
