BSF sources said the jar was wrapped in a black plastic bag and was recovered from the bushes under a culvert in Kalibadi village on the IndiaBangladesh border under the Hili Police station.
On the other hand, the CID's special team has recovered narcotic tablets from the Balurghat Bus stand on Wednesday evening, worth Rs 17 lakh, police sources said.
The CID has arrested one person in this connection.
Keeping in mind the two separate cases in the district, the Trinamool Congress' district president has demanded more action from both the police and the BSF to stop smuggling and to save the young generation.
