Work on luxury apartments to start within weeks
AN 'EYESORE' mill dating back to 1853 is to be turned into luxury flats - after being sold for £550,000.
Developer Solanki Holdings is set to covert Leek’s London Mill after buying the historic building. Planning approval has already been granted for 28 one and two-bed apartments on the Ashbourne Road site with work set to start within weeks.
Nirad Solanki, chief executive of Leicestershire-based Solanki Holdings, said they were ‘extremely excited’ to start the project and aim to deliver 28 apartments within 10 to 12 months.
He added: “We felt this project fits very well with our love for conservation areas, listed properties and buildings of architectural merit, whilst creating core housing to fit in with our strategic development.
