Anchors weigh in on GMA News’ renewed direction

GMA News has always been at the forefront of news and information for the Filipino public in recent years.

But this year, the organization marks a renewed chapter — one that reinforces, rather than reinvents, its core mission.
With its defining statement, “Walang kinikilingan. Walang pinoprotektahan. Noon at ngayon, Serbisyong Totoo,” the organization signals a deeper reaffirmation of its commitment to deliver truthful, balanced and credible journalism to Filipinos everywhere.
For the award-winning anchors of GMA Network’s flagship newscast “24 Oras,” the renewed era of GMA News is less about change and more about clarity. It’s a return to first principles — a declaration that amid noise, speed and evolving platforms, the newsroom remains anchored in truth, integrity and public service.
Setting the tone for the renewed direction, Mel Tiangco underscores a message of continuity and conviction: “We have never stopped being ‘Serbisyong Totoo,’ and will always be!”
Echoing the renewed clarity of purpose, Vicky Morales highlights the importance of returning to a defining principle of journalism: “Reviving ‘Walang kinikilingan, walang pinoprotektahan’ feels so right. It’s our way of saying that in a world full of confusion, you can still count on us to give it to you straight. This was something GMA News had been doing before and will keep doing now, more than ever.”
