WEST Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's government received a sharp reprimand from the Calcutta High Court on Thursday as it heard affidavits seeking investigation into the allegations of sexual assault, extortion and land grab that surfaced from Sandeshkhali ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
Petitioner-lawyer Priyanka Tibrewal submitted a bunch of around 100 affidavits of alleged victims of sexual assault, besides those of land grabbing and violence.
"Even if one affidavit is correct, it is shameful.
