ROYAL Enfield is set to invest ₹1,000 crore in Tamil Nadu towards electric vehicle manufacturing facility, and new product development under internal combustion engine portfolio.
Sources said the company is planning to roll out its first electric vehicle from its Vallam plant in Kancheepuram district by 2025. "Royal Enfield has an installed capacity of 1.2 million vehicles at its plant in Oragadam and Vallam. The EVs will be produced in the Vallam plant," they said.
Official sources in the guidance department confirmed the investment.
