Surat redux in Indore? Congress candidate withdraws nomination

In a morning shocker, Akshay Kanti Bam, the party's candidate from Indore LS seat that goes to polls on May 13, withdrew his nomination papers.

Bam wasn't alone at the collectorate to withdraw his papers. State's urban development minister Kailash Vijayvargiya's close confidant and Indore-2 BJP MLA Ramesh Mendola, along with aides, accompanied him.

Outside the collectorate, Vijayvargiya waited in the car, as Bam returned with Mendola.

Soon after, Vijayvargiya shared his picture with Bam and Mendola on microblogging site X, welcoming the Congress candidate into the BJP fold.
