The prominent among the names include West Bengal Congress president Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury from Berhampore seat and Praniti Shinde, daughter of former Union home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde from Maharashtra's Solapur seat. The Congress has so far announced 139 candidates in three lists for the seven-phase Lok Sabha polls beginning April 19.
The states in the list include Arunachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Telangana, West Bengal and Puducherry. In Rajasthan, the party has left the Sikar seat for CPI(M).
As speculated, Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge's son-in-law Radhakrishna Doddamani will contest from Gulbarga Lok Sabha seat in Karnataka. Other key candidates include former Rajya Sabha MP MV Rajeev Gowda from Bangalore North and Congress Legislative Party leader in the Gujarat Assembly, Amit Chawda from Anand seat.
