NAVEEN, MAMATA FOR PERMANENT, STRONG FEDERAL STRUCTURE

IN a veiled attack on the Centre's friction with non-BJP ruled States on a number of issues, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and his West Bengal counterpart Mamata Banerjee on Thursday said the federal structure of the country should remain permanent and strong.

While both the leaders who met for over half an hour termed it a courtesy call, they called for a permanent and federal structure in the country, hinting it may emerge as a common ground for regional political parties ahead of the 2024 elections.
