A Delhi court on Tuesday framed charges of murder and causing disappearance of evidence against Aaftab Poonawala, who was accused of strangling to death his live-in partner Shraddha Walkar and chopping her body into pieces.
In the 16-page order on charge, Additional Sessions Judge Manisha Khurana at Saket Court said, "sufficient material has been placed on record by the prosecution which warrants trial of the accused for both the offences."
"From the aforesaid material placed on record by the prosecution, prima facie case for the offence under section 302 and 201 IPC is made out against the accused," it added.
During the hearing, the charge was explained to Aaftab on which he pleaded not guilty, claiming trial in the case.
