Exit polls predict Cong edge in hung House

WITH polling ending in Karnataka on Wednesday, exit polls gave the Congress an edge over the ruling BJP though they indicated a hung Assembly in the 224-member House. The counting of votes will happen on Saturday, May 13.

Exit polls showed Congress having the edge over BJP across all regions in the state, except in Coastal Karnataka, which is the saffron party's bastion. The India Today-Axis My India exit polls, which looked at region-wise performance of the political parties, gave the Congress an absolute majority with 122-140 seats against 62-80 to the BJP, 20-25 to JD(S) and three to Independent candidates.
