Bullying a vintage Cong culture: PM

PRIME Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday attacked the Congress after around 600 lawyers from across the country wrote to Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud alleging that a "vested interest group" is trying to put pressure on the judiciary and defame courts.

"To browbeat, bully others is vintage Congress culture", Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in a post on X, referring to the lawyers' letter to the CJI. Though the letter did not mention a specific party, the PM attacked the Congress.

"Five decades ago itself they had called for a "committed judiciary" they shamelessly want commitment from others for their selfish interests but desist from any commitment towards the nation," Modi said. "No wonder 140 crore Indians are rejecting them," he said days ahead of Lok Sabha polls, tagging a post on X that carried the letter written by the lawyers to the CJI.
