Manston processing centre is like a "pot that is boiling over" due the largest union representing workers to serious overcrowding, at the site has said.
The Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS) said they have been raising concerns about the number of people at the site "for months, but no one's been listening".
"Why has it taken firebombs to be thrown for anyone to take Kevin Mills, a Border Force notice?", PCS representative employee, said.
The maximum capacity of the immigration processing centre in Manston is 1,800 people, but this peaked to around 4,000 over the weekend.
There have been some efforts to reduce the number in the past day, with home secretary Suella Braverman telling cabinet yesterday that a "large number" of asylum seekers had been moved out overnight.
