A licensing application has been made for a business called the Malinka Supermarket. Industry sources say the proposal is for an Asian supermarket to open in the unit. A licensing application has been submitted to Plymouth City Council by a company called Zheer Ltd, asking to open from 7am to 11pm Monday to Saturday and 8am to 11pm on Sunday.
The application seeks approval for the sale of alcohol from the premises. There are no further details, but a company called Zheer Ltd, based in Cornwall Street, was incorporated in April 2022 with the nature of the business described as "non-specialised wholesale of food, beverages and tobacco".
