PLYMOUTH Argyle were last night carrying out a medical on a prospective new striker signing, manager Steven Schumacher confirmed, amid speculation they will be signing Morgan Whittaker on a season-long loan from Swansea City.
Schumacher has made no secret of the fact that he wants to add another forward to his squad, and the sooner the better, with the 2022/23 League One campaign beginning against Barnsley at Home Park on Saturday, July 30.
Currently, the only strikers available to Schumacher are Niall Ennis, Ryan Hardie and Luke Jephcott, but that seems about to change.
Following Argyle's 5-0 pre-season win away to Torquay United last night, Schumacher would not comment on the identity of the player he was looking to make his fifth signing of the summer.
