Villagers open their gardens

Green-fingered residents will be showing off their previously unseen plots on Sunday, June 4, with all proceeds going to support the compassionate end of life support provided by St Luke’s Hospice Plymouth for patients and their families.

As part of this exclusive one-off walkabout event, the former Elephant’s Nest pub a short drive up the road at Horndon – now a bed and breakfast – will also be inviting visitors to explore their bright summer bedding displays and a splendid rose collection that will be in flower just in time, thanks to the recent sunny weather.

Organiser Alison Boulter, who tends the garden at the Elephant’s Nest part-time, is opening her own Spanish-influenced garden at Greystones as part of an easy trail that begins at the village’s Coronation Hall parking area, where you can pay by cash or card and pick up a map.
