PARENTS have been urged to check their children are fully up to date on their measles vaccinations following an uptick in cases of the illness across the country. The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has warned of an increase in cases of the deadly virus this year, with six laboratory confirmed cases in the South West.
Data released by the UKHSA shows 49 cases of measles in the UK between January 1 and April 20 the first 110 days of the year - compared with 54 cases in the whole of 2022. Most cases have been confirmed in London, though six have been found in the South West.
