PLYMOUTH welterweight Constantin Ursu added another win to his record and saw his boxing stock rise even higher with a one-sided outing on the undercard of a televised Channel 5 show at the O2 Arena on Friday.
Dubbed the 'Dynamite Kid', Ursu put down rival Borja Lopez twice in four rounds on the Wasserman Boxing show, and there was no doubt which glove the referee would raise after the final bell.
Despite finding out the identity of his opponent just 48 hours before the Indigo at the O2 show, Ursu dominated the early exchanges and almost forced a stoppage as his opponent was forced to the canvas by several crunching body shots.
Ursu's coach Marlee Dann said it was another stepping stone for the Moldova-born prospect, who is quickly garnering a reputation as a powerful Southpaw who could go a lot higher.
Dann said: "He [Ursu] came back to the corner after the first round and said 'he's very tough but I think if I go for it I could get him out but I don't want to leave myself too tired so I might just let him come on to something and hit him.
"I said 'if that's how you feel then fair enough.
"But he said 'I think I might be able to catch him with a body shot'."
