PLYMOUTH CENTURIONS........40

LEICESTER LION CUBS..............50

Minus the injured Dan Gilkes and departed Henry Atkins, the Centurions are on the lookout for two replacement riders, but drafted in Gladiators number two Alfie Bowtell top the septet that raced the Lions.

As expected, Bowtell scored well, returning 11 points from his five rides, but it was Plymouth's own Ben Trigger who top scored with 13 points from his seven ride.

Trigger, who turns 16 tomorrow, enjoyed three race wins on a productive night for him, where the experience of competitive heats on his home track can only hold him in good stead for the future. And despite the result, it was a night the Plympton schoolboy relished.

"It was a busy night, definitely, Trigger said. "Obviously I came into the meeting thinking I would have more than four rides, but to end up having seven... I suppose it's expected when you are at reserve, but we move.
