A SECONDARY school in Plymouth has been ordered to improve its standards yet again by Ofsted – but has received praise. St Boniface’s Catholic College in Manadon was informed it required improvement in every area following an inspection in February.
The latest Ofsted report comes just four years after its previous inspection which returned largely similar results. The major difference is the overall score has been raised from ‘inadequate’ to ‘requires improvement’.
The 2023 inspection notes begin by detailing what it is like to attend St Boniface’s Catholic College. Inspectors describe children as being ‘proud’ of their school but go on to say “some pupils lose focus and motivation to study when the curriculum is not well structured or well taught”.
