POINTS ARE ALL THAT MATTER AND NOT PERFORMANCES
CHRIS ERRINGTON
ONE STEP CLOSER...

STEVEN Schumacher admitted the three points were all that mattered after Plymouth Argyle beat Forest Green Rovers 2-0 at Home Park to maintain their League One promotion push.

Bottom-of-the-table Forest Green started the game positively but once they fell behind to a goal from defender James Bolton in only the eighth minute they were largely on the defensive for the rest of the match.

It did not make for much of an attacking spectacle for another 16,000-plus crowd at Home Park, but there were no complains from Schumacher about that with the points meaning so much more than Argyle's performance.
