A PLYMOUTH mum is taking a protest to ensure children with additional needs get the right support at school all the way to London. Sarah Williams recently experienced the difficulty of securing a place at an SEN school for her daughter, Lillian-Louvain.
Thankfully, Sarah was eventually able to secure a place for her four-year-old, who has sensory processing disorder [SPD] and autism. But as a result, Sarah launced a campaign to change the way school places were allocated for children with special needs and disabilities.
Lillian-Louvain needs a specialist setting as she has an education, health and care plan (EHCP) in place. Although Sarah has now secured a place for her young daughter, it has not been easy. Sarah and her family have been campaigning for months to make this happen and finding an SEN school place for her daughter has been a struggle.
Now, Sarah and her supporters want to continue campaigning for all SEN children’s futures.
