On a tense afternoon on the edge of Dartmoor, Stuart Henderson's Lambs struggled to break down battling Ashton & Backwell, while their title challengers Exmouth Town were habing just as much trouble in overcoming a spirited Shepton Mallet.
The two teams went into their games level on points with Tavistock having the slenderest of advantages - on goal difference by just one goal - so a goal in either game would have had massive consequences.
By 4.45pm, the tension was palpable as both games were still goalless. Then Tavistock were awarded a controversial penalty when Warren Daw was bundled over inside the penalty box. After a substantial delay, as the Ashton & Backwell players did everything they could to delay the penalty and put of spot kick taker Liam Prynn, Tavi's ace marksman was coolness personified and rose to the challenge by notching his 42nd goal of an incredible season with almost the last kick of the game.
