FOR all those people who love to linger when looking at trees, there is a splendid new book just out, called For The Love of Trees in Plymouth and Beyond.
It is co-written and edited by Gloria Dixon, Plymouth Tree Partnership member and chair of the Old Plymouth Society, and Andrew Young, community tree co-ordinator at Plymouth Tree Partnership.
A handsomely produced 136-page book, it follows up the 2008 tome, Plymouth's Favourite Trees, and, as well as being a more general guide to trees in general, offers a more in-depth look at some of those trees, as various contributors have focused their attention on them.
Those contributors include a tree warden, tree officer, estate manager, the city council's environment portfolio holder (the current Lord Mayor - Cllr Sue Dann), an artist, a woodturner and a landscape architect.
