Dead dolphin washes up 'wrapped in net'

THE corpse of a rotting dolphin has washed up on a beach near Plymouth. According to the person who found the animal, it was surrounded by plastic and appeared to have been caught in a fishing net.

Kayleigh Jayne, from Plymouth, and her partner had been walking their dog around Whitsand Bay when they came across the dolphin. Pictures taken by Kayleigh show the mangled dolphin's body across some nearby rocks. She told The Herald that she could see netting by the animal's head.

She also said she felt 'upset' at the large amounts of plastic which had also washed up on the beach.

The dog walker said: "Me and my partner took our dog to Whitsands beach and it's so upsetting on how much plastic is being washed up on our beaches.
