THE leader of Plymouth City Council said the authority is "determined to learn and be better in the future", as he confirmed the next steps for a review into the felling of 109 trees on Armada Way.
A judicial review into the decision to fell the trees in March last year was dismissed by the High Court, but an "independent learning review" is now planned.
The council has agreed to give an undertaking to the High Court over the terms of the review. It has now outlined exactly what the review will cover, including whether there was sufficient consultation and the impact of the original scheme on the local environment.
However, council leader Tudor Evans said the review "is not about whether it was right or wrong to fell the trees". He said it would look at what happened behind the scenes leading to the decision being made.
