THERE are hopes Plymouth’s £44m city centre health hub can be rescued after high-level talks took place between council chiefs and a government minister.
Council leader Richard Bingley and chief executive Tracey Lee met health minister Lord Markham to discuss the future of the planned West End Health Health and Wellbeing Hub.
The project was thrown into doubt when it emerged £41m of national NHS funding, which had been anticipated, was not available for the scheme. It meant building work didn’t start as scheduled in this month despite demolition work at Colin Campbell Court to make way for the building.
