'Complication' in treatment led to Chloe's death

A YOUNG woman who had an "infectious laugh" and was an "absolute joy to be around" died from a rare but known chemotherapy complication.

Chloe Dawe, from Launceston, died at her home on December 10, 2021.

The talented 22-year-old rugby player was diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma just four months before her death, after finding a lump in her neck.

She was given a 90% chance of survival and was responding well to treatment.

The "beautiful, bright, happy" sportswoman, who played for the senior Cornwall ladies team, saw her tumours shrink after treatment and she was expected to make a full recovery. Sadly Chloe passed away suddenly overnight and was found by her partner.

An inquest held into her death at the Cornwall coroner's court on November 21 heard doctors could not arrive at a definitive cause of death.

Coroner Andrew Cox gave a narrative conclusion into her death saying that Chloe died from a known but rare complication of medical treatment.
