'Closure of our butcher's was hard'

It was an award-winning and popular Plymouth business which traded successfully for more than a quarter of a century until Covid happened. It spelled the end for Gribbles Butchers Ltd and its shops in Plympton, Ivybridge and offices in Buckfastleigh.

Now, two years after the business collapsed, owing £400,000, the full story of the rise and fall of the well-known enterprise can be revealed.
And founder Mark Gribble has revealed he is still living with the legacy of his company's collapse and told The Herald how everything was done to save the business.
