After the postponement of the GB Fight Series 8 at the Guildhall, which was due to take place on Saturday, July 2, Marlee Dann of Intense ABC, said organisers of shows were running into problems with their business model.
While ticket sales are proving difficult because of the cost-of-living crisis, there are also issues with finding adequate opponents for the away corner, he said.
Dann is the coach of a number of up-and-coming Plymouth fighters includine the highly-rated trio of Connor Adaway, Constantine Ursu and Lewis Everson and has even more boxers in his stable.
But without the oxygen of home shows, their progress could be scuppered before it has had the chance to grow.
