Farage heckled and party called racist at first speech as MP

Nigel Farage was yesterday heckled by anti-racism protesters at his first event in London since his election where he said he would "professionalise" Reform UK and displace the Conservatives as the voice of opposition.
Several people were thrown out by Reform UK security as they took it in turns to stand up and disrupt Farage when he appeared alongside three of his fellow MPs from the hard-right party. The party added a fifth MP to their number, James McMurdock, after a recount in the Basildon South and East Thurrock constituency.
"The political establishment are in fear about what happened last night in the election," claimed Farage after trading barbs with activists, asking one where he was from. "Glasgow," replied the man, as he was being manhandled away, to which Farage replied: "Well that explains it." The action to disrupt the event was claimed by the campaign group Stand up to Racism, which said in a statement: "We are speaking to the millions of people who will be appalled at the advances made by Reform UK - [which has been] exposed as a racist party - and the divisive hate spewed by Farage."
