Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman said that there are times when she has to answer people's query that why are our taxes like this, why can't they be lower than this. "I wish I can bring it down to almost nil. But India's challenges are severe and challenges will have to be overcome," she added.
She exhorted learned students to understand the challenges of the country. She was addressing the 11th convocation ceremony of Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Bhopal on Tuesday.
