Special needs child drowns in school pool
The Free Press Journal|June 24, 2023
A 14-year-old boy drowned in the swimming pool at Yashodham High School, Goregaon east, on Friday. Senior Inspector Jeevan Kharat,  Dindhoshi Police, said the boy, Shardul Sanjay Arolkar, was a special needs child and he was not a learner. The trainer told police that apparently, Arolkar became tired while swimming and could not move his limbs and this might have resulted in his drowning.

The boy’s mother and three trainers were by the pool when the tragedy occurred. The trainers jumped into the pool when they realised something was amiss and pulled him out. The boy was then rushed to Shatabdi Hospital, where the doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Kharat said an accidental death report had been filed for now. "We are investigating the matter. The post-mortem report is yet to be received," he added.
