The HC said while quashing GRs that cancelled sanctioned works worth more than 5 crore in Pune’s Kasba legislative constituency

The public cannot be penalised if authorities delay execution of work related to basic amenities, observed the Bombay High Court. It made the remark, while quashing two government resolutions (GR) cancelling the developmental works in Pune's Kasba legislative constituency.

As per development of basic amenities in municipal areas scheme, the urban development department (UDD) issued a GR on October 4, 2022, sanctioning Rs5 crore for execution of 24 works to be executed in Kasba legislative constituency.
