Railways is ready to run the metro version of Vande Bharat in suburban sections of the city, if that is what the public wants.

One day, Vande Metro for city commuters too

The 'Made in India' Vande Metro trains would be ready to roll out by 2024. "If Mumbaikars want it, we will introduce Vande Metro in the suburban sections of Mumbai too," said Union Minister of Railways, Communications, Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw on Sunday, in Jammu. The Vande Bharat metro trains will give suburban passengers higher speeds and greater comfort. Notably, the air-conditioned (AC) locals are already gaining popularity in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR).
