'J&K POLLS SOON; NO TALKS WITH PAK'

Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday ruled out talks with Pakistan and said polls in Jammu and Kashmir will be held once the Election Commission publishes the revised electoral rolls.

Addressing a rally in Baramulla district, Mr. Shah criticized those advocating dialogue with Pakistan.

"I don't want to talk to Pakistan but I want to talk to the people of Jammu and Kashmir," he said.

The minister urged young people to shun violence, and said terrorism has claimed 42,000 lives in Jammu and Kashmir since the 1990s.
