All four AAP leaders in separate jails at Tihar
GAURAV VIVEK BHATNAGAR
HOME AWAY FROM HOME

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was on Monday sent to judicial custody till April 15 by a Delhi court in the excise policy case after the ED did not press for extension of remand. He, in turn, accepted the development with a touch of stoicism saying that what PM is doing is not good for nation.

Meanwhile, a peculiar situation awaited him at the Tihar Central Jail. He is the first sitting CM to be incarcerated behind its walls, where three of his senior party colleagues are also lodged.

These include Manish Sisodia, who was also arrested in the same case in February 2023, and Satyendar Jain, who was arrested by the ED in a money laundering case in May 2022. Yet another Aam Aadmi Party leader, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, is also lodged in the Tihar Jail since October 2023 in connection with the liquor policy case.
