On Thursday US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller was asked in his daily briefing if the American government is concerned that the CAA could affect religious freedom in India.
"We are closely monitoring how this act will be implemented. Respect for religious freedom and equal treatment under the law for all communities are fundamental democratic principles," Miller responded.
